About the role
DBS is seeking a visionary Head of Careers and University Guidance Counselling to oversee the advisory department across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Sixth Form. In this strategic leadership capacity, you will oversee an expansive guidance programme while maintaining an active student advising caseload.
The role demands deep familiarization with global tertiary admissions systems, including UK UCAS, US Common App and holistic evaluations, as well as pathways in Canada, Europe, Australia, and Asia. You will partner with the Head of Sixth Form and Senior Leadership to place students into top-ranked global universities, including Oxbridge and the Ivy League.
You will also manage a team of dedicated counsellors, organize workshops for families, and promote a healthy, aspirational culture of higher education planning.
Requirements
- Extensive background leading careers and tertiary education guidance in an international school
- Deep knowledge of UCAS, US admissions protocols, standardized testing, and global university options
- Proven leadership experience managing advisory personnel and cross-functional pastoral initiatives
- Exceptional interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills suited for diverse families and stakeholders
