About the role
Uppingham Hung Yen invites applications for the Head of Key Stage 3 Pastoral Care starting August 2027. Reporting directly to the Head of Senior School, this middle leadership role focuses on managing pastoral guidance, wellbeing, and student development for Years 7 through 9.
The role entails building strong pastoral systems, establishing behavioral and attendance frameworks, and assisting pupils during their transition from primary to secondary school. The postholder will supervise tutors and work alongside inclusion and safeguarding specialists to foster an environment where students excel.
As part of the founding team, the postholder will help create long-standing traditions and routines for the expanding Senior School, with potential career progression into leading pastoral care across all secondary year groups.
Requirements
- Proven record in pastoral care and student wellbeing leadership
- Familiarity with British curriculum secondary transitions (Years 7–9)
- Degree in education or relevant subject area
