About the role
An established international kindergarten in Chengdu is hiring an early childhood educator to act as a homeroom teacher. This position involves guiding young learners aged two to four through structured play, creative activities, and an inquiry-led curriculum aligned with international early learning standards.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating a warm, safe, and organized classroom atmosphere. Daily duties include designing individualized learning experiences, documenting developmental milestones through portfolios, and guiding student behavior with positive reinforcement methods.
You will work in close coordination with Chinese co-teachers and teaching assistants to ensure a seamless bilingual education. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will provide regular developmental reports to families and take part in accreditation initiatives such as CIS or WASC.
Requirements
- Background in early childhood education, ESL, or related fields
- Ability to lead inquiry-led and play-based learning for children aged 2–4
- Strong classroom management and positive behavioral guidance skills
- Experience compiling learner portfolios and ongoing assessments
- Excellent interpersonal and parent communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a bilingual teaching setting
